Senior CAD Technician
We are seeking a Senior CAD Technician to join our multidisciplinary team specialising in the design of rail projects across the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and checking high-quality CAD drawings and technical documentation across multiple disciplines, ensuring compliance with CAD standards and design requirements.

Accountabilities:
- Assist with management of CAD standards, protocols and best practices for a multidisciplinary design team including Structural, Civil, Architectural, MEP and Track.
- Produce and oversee the production of high quality 2D and 3D technical drawings using Autodesk products including AutoCAD, Revit, Civils 3D, Navisworks & Recap.
- Assist with the production of technical documents such as risk assessments, reports, specification and design approvals.
- Undertake and oversee design supporting administrative duties such as filing incoming drawings and documents, completions of document issue register in accordance with the company IMS.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects and other stake holders to ensure accurate and efficient design integration
- Conduct clash detection and resolve design conflicts in line with project requirements.
- Mentor, supervise and provide training to junior team members, promoting best practice and technical excellence.
- Attend design and client meetings, take minutes and contribute to reviews and problem solving discussions.
- Support the maintenance of company standards and libraries.
- Ensure all project outputs comply with company standards and procedures, BIM requirements, relevant industry regulations, and specific client standards.
- Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programme and input into KPI and data collection.
- Undertake site visits and surveys as required.
What you will bring:
- Degree, HND or equivalent qualification related to the build environment.
- EngTech (ICE) Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
- Minimum 5+ years civil engineering experience.
- Extensive experience in Revit, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in Autodesk products including AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Navisworks & Recap
- Knowledge of RC detailing
- Strong understanding of BIM processes and digital design delivery.
- High attention to detail and problem solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- A valid driving licence, and willingness to travel to sites.
The Specifics:
- Location: Morley, Leeds
- Hours: 41hours/week. Mon-Thu 8am – 5pm, Fri 8am – 3.30pm
